Etiquette
The Cappuccino Club welcomes new riders to join our group – provided that you adhere to our ride etiquette.
- Always ride two abreast.
- Do not half wheel other riders
- Observe the road rules – do not run red lights. If the bunch gets split by red lights wait for the riders who got caught to re-join
- Keep a constant pace – do not surge.
- Fill gaps. If you cannot hold the wheel in front of you, signal the riders behind you to come through.
- When rolling turns come through steadily and ease the pressure off the pedals slightly. Make it easy for the rider you are passing to stay on your wheel and for the next rider behind you to come past you. If you cannot participate in turns, stay at the back of the bunch – do not come up the line and then create a gap.
- Pedal on the downhills.
- Ride within your ability – both your physical fitness and your bike handling skills
- Make loud and clear calls and signal upcoming hazards
- Always be predictable. Avoid braking suddenly or making sudden changes in direction.
- Show respect for your fellow riders and other groups.
